Please note it is understood that all individuals taking part in these courses will be proficient in answering questions on the relevant topics, and capable of performing the tasks listed below, upon the completion of each category. Section 1 – Warehouse, Industrial, Transport, Construction and Utilities
Lorry Loader Training (HIAB/Grab)
- Understanding the potential dangers of working within the industry and his/her appropriate obligations
- Comprehending the contents of the relevant handbook and current legislation relating to the vehicle and loader crane in question
- Select the appropriate PPE for the task in hand, and fitting accordingly
- Identifying the major parts and controls of the vehicle and loader crane, and outlining each function
- Carrying out all applicable safety checks on the vehicle and loader crane prior to use
- Preparing the vehicle and loader crane for transport, and manoeuvring it across both level and rough terrain, and in confined and open spaces

- Select the appropriate PPE for the task in hand, and fitting accordingly
- Identifying the major parts and controls of the concrete pump, and outlining each function

Section 3 – Plant Operations Qualifications
Level 2 Certificate in Plant Operations
This competence-based certificate confirms to the relevant parties that the holder possesses the understanding and competency to meet the standards required to carry out the various roles outlined therein. Individuals taking part in this course will learn how to prepare and operate compact cranes and ergonomic manipulating machines in order to lift and transport various loads within the workplace.

The Plant Operations Certificate is recognised by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS), an essential qualification for access to most construction sites and other relevant areas.
Level 2 Diploma in Plant Operations
This competence-based diploma confirms to the relevant parties that the holder possesses the understanding and competency to meet the standards required to carry out the various roles outlined therein.
Individuals taking part in this course will learn how to conduct the following:
- Guiding and transporting various loads or machinery
- Slinging and signalling the movement of various loads
- Road rail plant machinery is also covered.
Participants may also specialise in certain areas pertaining to this diploma, such as cranes, excavators, forklift trucks or scissor platforms.
